How to make your own Sun Jar for under $12

A sun jar is physically little more than a solar lantern in a frosted jar, but the effect is absolutely beautiful at night. Everybody’s favorite productivity and howto site Lifehacker.com has a great tutorial on how to build your own Sun Jar for under $12.
Constructing the DIY sun jar involves dismantling a commercial solar lantern, and mounting the solar cell and LED light into a mason jar that has been frosted. The most difficult part of the whole project is taking the solar lanterns apart, but even that only took about 5 minutes once they got the hang of it.
The instructions are simple to follow, and the whole process will take less than an hour for 4 sun jars. This is a great afternoon DIY project that you will be able to enjoy for years to come.

It seems like a really cool idea and looks great, but it would be even better if the instructions showed how to buy the parts rather than dismantle a working light.
